What wows and unwows you about the company?

This demonstration of NFC technology by Nokia has left a deep impression on me. The video needs no explanation.

With rapid implementation of NFC, in conjunction with long-range data transfers via LTE and HSPA+, I envision a profoundly connected future, something that Intel Mobile Communications is instrumental in realizing. It is an amazing prospect, and it has reinforced my views pertaining to Intel and its role as a driving force in technology. It has indeed, "wowed" me.

Applied Materials also represents a forefront - just not one that the average consumer might notice. Developments in semiconductor technology enables Moore's Law to hold true, and this translates to a better experience for the consumer. Next-gen DRAM and microprocessors will double or even triple their predecessor's performance, as with next-gen wireless communication transmitters and recievers.

It is apparent from this video that scalability is of paramount importance in the semiconductor industry. I was also impressed with the scale of the processes going on.

Advances such as 3D integrated circuits that contain multi-gate transistors enable more efficient use of substrate space, denser ICs and ultimately greater processing power. Applied Materials has the indispensable role of providing the equipment and machinery required to produce these chips, such as etches and high-k modification tools.

The rate at which Applied Materials, well, applies and supplies these new technologies is astounding. Coupled with its advances in photovoltaic cell (solar cell) technology such as silicon thin-film cells and industrial automation, the increases in efficiency and productivity are significant. It has and will change the way we live, whether we notice it or not. In this way, Applied Materials "wowed" me, with their "backstage" developments.

Faced with two such innovative and generally awesome companies, it is indeed a challenge to find something that "unwows" me. Instead of finding something just for the sake of answering the question, then, I would rather leave this section blank until I find something genuine.
